Destination Development

Founded with a vision to help position Ras Sudr as a global kitesurfing destination, FLY Watersports grew into one of Egypt’s most recognized watersports centers, attracting riders and visitors from around the world.

Led by Sherif Abouzeid, the venture expanded into hospitality, food & beverage, and destination experiences, while contributing to the development of hospitality infrastructure that would later become one of the area's leading hotels. Sherif exited the business in 2014.

The Vision

What began as a personal passion for kitesurfing evolved into one of Egypt's most recognized watersports ventures. After becoming a certified instructor and teaching friends and fellow riders, demand quickly grew beyond his immediate circle, leading Sherif Abouzeid to establish FLY Watersports in Ras Sudr.

At the time, the destination offered limited infrastructure for visitors. As demand increased, the venture expanded beyond watersports to include accommodation, hospitality, food & beverage, and guest experiences to better serve a growing community of local and international riders.

Over the years, FLY Watersports introduced thousands of people to kitesurfing and other watersports, helping contribute to the growth of Ras Sudr as a destination for adventure, tourism, and outdoor lifestyle experiences.
